Just in time for Christmas, where thousands of battery operated devices will be given and received, Energizer and Google Play have teamed up to offer a bonus HD quality movie from Google Play Movies when you purchase specially marked packs of batteries.

According to the Terms and Conditions, the promotion went live on October 15th and will be in place until July 31st 2019, though only three claims per household are permitted during the promotion.

Every specially marked pack of Energizer batteries includes a unique code you can enter at energizerfilms.com to claim your movie. Once you enter your code you’ll need to enter your details, then you’ll simply choose your move from a list before being re-directed to Google Play to finalise the addition to your collection – Note: Yes you will need a Google Play account.

There’s 20 movies in total to choose from including titles ranging from G rated to M. The list of movies includes:

  • 27 Dresses (PG)
  • Aliens in the Attic (PG)
  • Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (2015) (PG)
  • Cheaper By The Dozen (G)
  • Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules (2011) (PG)
  • Epic (PG)
  • Fantastic Mr Fox (2009) (PG)
  • Ice Age (G)
  • Life of Pi (PG)
  • Marley and Me (PG)
  • Mr Popper’s Penguins (2011) (G)
  • Night at the Museum (PG)
  • Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief (M)
  • Rio (G)
  • Rise Of the Planet of The Apes (M)
  • The Book of Life (PG)
  • The Book Thief (PG)
  • The Day the Earth Stood Still (M)
  • The Devil Wears Prada (PG)
  • The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (PG)

I was able to track down the specially marked packs of Energizer batteries at both Woolworths and Coles so it’s likely you’ll be able to find them anywhere that sells the batteries.

The 16-pack of batteries is currently half-price ($9.75) at the moment at Woolworths so that makes a pretty good value bargain.

I saw these in Coles today and wondered why my favourite Googley website hadn’t published a story on this, as I’d have bought some sooner … turns out they DID publish this story, but it was buried on page two underneath a heap of other crap content. You guys really need to focus on posting quality over quantity.
