Fans of the Fitbit Versa and Ionic will be seeing a new update this week which brings a number of new apps as well as the dashboard allowing fast access to logging and data, and there’s also more developer tools.
The Fitbit OS 3.0 dashboard will give users new tiles for tracking your stats for sleep, weight, water and food, with quick-logging letting you update your weight, as well as add your water intake quickly and easily.
Fitbit has also announced an expansion to their app catalogue, fleshing out the existing apps with new options including TRX with guided workouts, FitBark which lets you see your pets daily stats side-by-side with your own, GOLD’S AMP for Fitbit giving you training tips from GOLD’S Gym and more including achu health, Couch to 5K, Genius Wrist and MySwimPro.
Fitbit’s focus on female health tracking will improve next year with tracking trends due to arrive in the Fitbit app in early 2019. Fitbit says that the trends will offer ‘a comprehensive view of menstrual cycle data including symptom trends, over time’.
Finally Fitbit has added a new Exercise API and open source tools for developers giving them faster and more efficient ways to build apps and watch faces for Fitbit Smartwatches.
