HMD’s Nokia returned to MWC with its head held high, having continued to surge ahead in the Android handset market. At this year’s show HMD announced three new Android One devices: the Nokia 3.2, Nokia 4.2 and Nokia 9 Pureview, all of which included a FIDO certified secure face unlock system.
The system is provided by Sensory, according to the company “TrulySecure is a FIDO Certified™ biometric authentication technology that quickly, conveniently and securely recognizes enrolled users via powerful face biometric recognition technologies”. What does this mean for users of Nokia’s latest devices? It should mean ultra fast face unlock that – according to the company – is 99.999% secure.
With Sensory claiming that “it’s nearly impossible for an imposter to gain access to a protected device”, users who want the convenience of face-unlock without sacrificing security should be able to use the new 2019 Nokia Android One line up, or at least the ones released up until now.
