It’s here. It’s happened, and you can get it right now. For fans of the Harry Potter universe, the news that Niantic Labs was working on an Augmented Realty game – similar to the once popular Pokemon GO and Ingress games – was well received.
The idea of walking around the real world, casting spells in an augmented Harry Potter universe was enticing.
For those living in Australia and New Zealand the game is live in beta for NOW, as shared on the game’s Twitter page earlier today:

We’ve installed the game and confirmed that you can signup using your Google account and jump into the game. From there you’re a few taps and a few dialogs away from casting your first spell. Unfortunately for me, a few spells in and the server stopped responding, but we will keep trying.
In all likelihood, the servers are getting smashed with many new users jumping on board at once.
The basic premise seems to be that you have to walk around the muggle world collecting objects that are bleeding through from the wizarding world. Once captured you get stickers and collect them in a sticker book.
We’re going to keep trying to get in and update you as we lean more about the game.
