One of the new features that arrived on the newly announced Google Pixel 3a was the Time Lapse mode in the camera app. Now, as seems to be the case with most Pixel features, it is beginning to roll out to other Pixel phones.
The new Camera update, updating it to version 6.2.030 is slowly rolling out and will show the Time Lapse mode in the same location as on the Pixel 3a (surprise, surprise) – under ‘More’.
Time Lapse mode involves the camera app shrinking a length of video down to a smaller video. The amount of shrinkage is optional with Google giving users 5x, 10x, 30x and 120x options. That means you can compress a ten minute video down to just five seconds.
Launching on the Pixel 3a Google stated that they would be rolling it out to other Pixel phones and true to their word it is arriving today.
Along with Time Lapse, the new camera update will also bring RAW support in Night Mode for Pixel users. There is now a toggle in the top right hand corner of the UI of the camera app to turn RAW capture on or off in Night Mode.
Rolling out via an update to the Google camera Google Pixel owners can wait for it to land on their update list or they can head on over to APKMirror and install it manually.
Why, it is simple to do on any video editor. I think capturing detailed slow motion is much-needed especially in the how to sectors. That is what people seek.
