PAX AUS is selling out fast, you’d better get in quick if you want to go

PAX AUS was huge last year with Melbourne putting on a great day in Jeff’s Shed and this year is set to be even bigger. Set for Friday October 11 to October 13 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre once again it is already selling out.

So what is PAX AUS? PAX originated in the US 14 years ago, originally known as Penny Arcade Expo, and “is a series of gaming culture festivals involving tabletop, arcade, and video gaming.” If it’s related to gaming then you’ll find it at PAX and at PAX AUS expect all of the above to be there.

From board games to competitive console game tournaments there is something for everyone. You can test out that PS4 game you’ve always wanted to try, see if it’s as good on an Xbox, play in a gaming tournament yourself, test out various PC hardware from a variety of manufacturers and also meet and greet your favourite video gaming streamers.

You can also check out the latest and greatest games and those not even here just yet along with some amazing cosplay costumes. Once again PAX AUS will host PAX Rising, Indie Showcase and panels from “industry professionals” to give you the full gaming experience.

Did I forget to mention that a lot of the larger gaming companies also give away a heap of freebies — just practice your overhead mark to be able to grab some cool merch for free.

PAX AUS have told us that their 3-day tickets are selling fast but there seems to still be plenty of single day tickets available. After attending last year it is a great day out for not just the older gamer such as myself but great fun for the youngest of gamers. Keep in mind that gamers under 14y.o. will need to be accompanied by a guardian/parent over the age of 18 the entire time they are at PAX AUS.
