Music has become more of an integral part of our lives since mobile phone storage and streaming capabilities have developed. There are a huge variety of ways to engage with music from streaming speakers, headphones and portable speakers. JBL have added to this with the introduction of their latest offering, the “life-proof” Flip 5 Bluetooth speaker.
The Flip 5 does a lot to allow you to take the party with you anywhere. The speaker is solid while remaining relatively lightweight (540 grams), and life-proof is a great description for the speaker which has IPX7 rating. The battery life is apparently amazing and although it doesn’t have an assistant option, it will connect to any phone allowing audio playback and call handling.
The playback packs a 20W RMS punch and promises booming bass, which should be sufficient for most outdoor areas. Adding to the appeal is the fact that JBL have moved with the times adding USB Type C charging capability to the speaker. This gives you a 2.5 hour charging time to allow 12 hours of music playback. It can also be paired with other Flip 5 via Bluetooth allowing for a further boost in sound.
