Earlier this year Google announced their next generation computing platform — Stadia but it was unknown when it would actually be available to the public. This morning at their Made By Google event in New York they have announced that it will be available from November 19.

Those who purchased the Founders Edition before it was sold out will be able to play and buy their favourite games from 9am PST on November 19 with notable games including Red Dead Redemption 2, Mortal Kombat 11, Kine and Destiny 2: The Collection.

Stadia, as you may remember can be used with your TV, laptop, desktop and select tablets and phones — Pixel 4 will be the first phone supported unsurprisingly. If you have a Chromecast Ultra and a Stadia controller you will be bale to game at up to 4K HDR with 5.1 surround sound when playing on your TV. Of course all this is dependent on your internet connection speed and you would hope that our amazing NBN will be able to handle the requirements.

At this stage it is not available on the Australian Google Store but if you head to Stadia.com with a VPN you should be able to see what Stadia is all about. Hopefully it lands Downunder before too long and in it’s best form. Keep an eye on Ausdroid for up to date information on Australian availability of Stadia.
