Many are saying these days that the premium smartphone is out of reach for many if not most people but that is okay because manufacturers are bring many premium features into the mid-range. OnePlus look set to do exactly that with the OnePlus 8 Lite, set to be launched alongside the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro.
Overnight we saw @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles release CAD-based renders for the OnePlus 8 Lite which showed a punch hole display and a rectangular rear camera module which was thought to house two cameras along with a flash and sensors.
The display is a flat display but the rear is a curved glass panel. After they released these pictures a true picture of what is apparently the OnePlus 8 Lite was revealed showing a third camera lens in the rear camera module.
Although the new leak is only of a bunch of dummy phones it seems that the OnePlus 8 Lite is at the back of the bucket of phones. The images below are taken from a video in which OnePlus CEO Pete Lau was a guest on a chat program. At 29 minutes into the video someone replaces the food with a bucket of phones — dummy phones.
There is no doubt in my mind that very strategically, and deliberately, the last one in the bucket was the OnePlus 8 Lite. The dummy phone at the rear shows a third camera lens along with a re-positioned flash. Everything else matches up with it being a OnePlus 8 Lite dummy phone — but remember that every phone manufacturer goes through many prototypes and dummy phones before settling on a final design. This dummy phone could be one of many different variations for the OnePlus 8 Lite.
Hmmm… Alleged #OnePlus8Lite prototype spotted with triple rear camera setup instead of dual on the model I got one month ago… Interesting… https://t.co/KPeOTq7cIs pic.twitter.com/vwf9BNshkE

As a little Eye Candy, my #OnePlus8Lite leak updated accordingly, in order to match today's prototype…

OnePlus have surged forwards in the last few years kicking goals on so many levels and even with a few missteps they have continued to grow. This year will mark the first time it will release three versions of the same phone. Hopefully it will also mark their foray into the Australian market.
