D-Link has been one of the biggest performers at CES this year. Clearly they’ve seen some areas of the market they want to solidify their position in, one of those is their routing solutions. They’ve delivered a series of new Wi-Fi 6 and smart home routing solutions that they say are
for consumers who demand more bandwidth, greater coverage, and seamless intelligent connections. Their new mesh networking solutions enable truly intelligent home networking experiences with one seamless mesh network that covers the whole home.
I’m pleased to see the Google Assistant and Alexa integration into the router itself and an increased security capacity with WPA3 certification in the mix and – market standard now — 128-bit wireless encryption.
D-Link have been pretty thorough in covering a lot of potential buyers needs with their new range as well as having a few “nice to have” built in options like Ookla Speedtest.

Depending on the model, you’ll find Ethernet backhaul, dual-band coverage and Gigabit Ethernet ports on multiple models. LED signal strength indicators which will help with placement of your nodes and MU-MIMO which supports more users with more streams running.

Unfortunately, the Australian pricing and delivery dates are yet to be announced, but we will be keeping on top of this as the information becomes available.
The best feature of these mesh routers – that is not mentioned in this article – is that D-Link has decided to use the EasyMesh Wifi standard. Before buying a Wifi mesh network, it’s worth checking if it conforms to the EasyMesh standard, which allows you to mix & match access points bought from different manufacturers. Other systems are proprietary, where one brand doesn’t work with another brand.
