A freshly datamined update to the Google Camera APK suggests 4K60 recording might be making its way to the Pixel 4.
A new recording mode line was found in the Google Camera APK by the fine folks over at XDA Developers labelled “camcorder.4k60fps” along with a second line suggesting 4K24 support.
This is still an unreleased update at the moment, so it’s subject to change, and it doesn’t necessarily mean a confirmation that it’ll be available on the Pixel 4, but if Google is testing these modes internally it means they’re taking video recording more seriously.
Higher framerate 4K recording has been one feature that’s notably absent from Pixel phones until now, but if Google can check that box the Pixel will be on par with most other high-end devices.
