Alcatel have been selling fairly high volumes into Australia for quite a while now. They may not be the ultra premium flagships that we always talk about but they are definitely great value propositions.
Amazon have become a big player in our marketplace and many brands are now opting to sell their smartphones via Amazon — sometimes it can be very difficult to get your products into a bricks and mortar store and even harder to get into a carriers store.
Alcatel have announced they are extending their online offering of devices with a new Amazon Australia shopfront. This gives consumers another avenue to access Alcatel’s affordable range of smartphones.
At this stage there are only three offerings on the Alcatel shopfront — the Alcatel 1S, the Alcatel 1X and exclusively to Amazon Australia, the Alcatel 3. At this stage the Alcatel 3X is only available at JB Hi-Fi but don’t be surprised if it and other Alcatel smartphones pop up on their Amazon Australia shopfront.
With all three offerings from Alcatel being sub-$200 smartphones they offer significant value which is becoming more and more important in this current climate. You can find out more about each of them here.
Affordable technology is arguably more important now than ever before, as we are all watching our dollars and needing them to stretch as far as possible. Today’s announcement of an official local shopfront on Amazon Australia ensures we give consumers the choice of some fantastic sub-$200 options as they consider an online purchase, perhaps for the first time.Sam Skontos, Regional Managing Director for Alcatel Mobile
