ECOVACS has today launched its most advanced AI-driven robot vacuum cleaner, the DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI. As you would expect from the name it incorporates artificial intelligence for better obstacle identification and avoidance along with other new feature and improvements.
Available now, the DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI has optimised AIVI (Artificial Intelligence and Visual Interpretation) technology along with TrueMapping and navigation technology and advanced mopping and vacuuming performance. With all this technology on-board it promises to provide a more thorough clean.
The technologies allow the robot to map your home faster and with greater precision while at the same time detecting and avoiding common household objects.
The DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI’s ability to recognise and respond to objects and obstacles in the environment around it is a game-changer when it comes to robotic cleaners. Users can now leave the home cleaning to their automated devices with unprecedented levels of trust that it will not get stuck…. This robot is perfectly designed for traditionally large Australian homes, offering cleaning efficiency and detailed maps. Karen Powell, ECOVACS ROBOTICS for AU and NZ
The new AIVI technology automatically recognises common household objects such as shoes, charging cables, socks and clothes and will allow the vacuum to map a path around these obstacles avoiding them. This promises to be handy as we found our last review unit got stuck a few times on such objects — hopefully this time it will not get stuck under the couch.
The DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI also has new oscillating mopping technology to allow it to vacuum and mop simultaneously and with increased precision and effectiveness. It still includes the carpet detection so carpet is avoided while mopping. It still also includes multi-floor mapping, virtual boundaries and automatic return, recharge and resume.
But wait, there’s more.
There is dToF (direct time of flight) sensors to map your home four times faster than before and can detect objects just a millimetre tall if required. Along with that ECOVACS have included an in-built on-demand video manager function to enable you to have a roaming home monitoring device — check in on kids and pets and home areas when out and about.
Of course its smart home capabilities are enhanced with support for Google Assistant and Alexa.
The DEEBOT OZMO T8 AIVI is available today from JB Hi-Fi for RRP $1,299 with more retailers set to be announced in the coming weeks and months. We hope to be checking one of these out soon so stay tuned for our review. If you are in the market for a new vacuum it is worth checking this new one out, especially if you are sick of cleaning your house all the time — let technology do it for you.
