With a little over a month until the expected Made by Google 2020 event it’s not surprising to see new Google devices getting regulatory approval. Overnight two new Google phones passed through the FCC just in time for that event.
Considering Google’s confirmation of the devices and the numerous leaks, it is clear that these devices are the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5. The filings didn’t reveal any new specific for the 4a 5G, however, we can now confirm that the Pixel 5 with include wireless charging and reverse wireless charging to charge your accessories.
The Pixel 4a is expected to include a slightly larger (than the Pixel 4a) 6.2-inch display, 6GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 765G SOC and a 3800 mAh battery. The Pixel 5 on the other hand is rumoured to include a 5.8-inch screen, 8GB of RAM and the same Snapdragon 765G SOC alongside a 4000 mAh battery.
Everything looks lined up for the new Pixels for 2020 to be launched on time and in our hands maybe even by November. But then this is 2020 and anything can happen — I’m still thinking Zombie takeover for October.
