OnePlus expands its product range to include a tablet and earbuds

When the OnePlus 11 5G launched it was limited to India only, but that’s now expanded. The expansion encompasses the US and Canada, with the addition of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 and the OnePlus Pad. At this stage, there remain no official channels to purchase in Australia but there is potential to import devices through the usual channels.

From a technical standpoint — keep your eyes out for the review coming soon — the OnePlus 11 feels like a return to form for OnePlus. It has some impressive specs:

• Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform
• A 6.7-inch QHD screen running up to 120 Hz dynamic refresh and 525PPI
• 128/256GB storage and up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM
• 5,000 mAh battery with 100W SUPERVOOC fast-charging
• Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC
• Solid camera specs
• OxygenOS 13

The specs of the OnePlus 11 suggest that, for the price, OnePlus is looking at making the OnePlus 11 as future-proof as possible for buyers. With the price coming in at US$699 it’s a pretty reasonable buy.

The phone is clearly the mainstream product, but a lot of interest surrounds the OnePlus Pad, the company’s first entry into the tablet market. We’re yet to get hands-on with the OnePlus Pad but — on paper — there’s a lot to like about what it’s capable of with specs including:

• Dimensity 9000 chipset – the first mobile chip to run Cortex-X2 core clocked at up to 3.05GHz
• 11.6-inch screen running 144Hz refresh rate
• 128 or 256GB storage and either 8 or 12GB RAM
• 9510mAh battery with 12 hours of video watching and 1-month standby: Supporting 67W SUPERVOOC charging

Happily, I can report that the OnePlus Pad will be getting delivered with a magnetic keyboard case and stylus. How this performs in the real world, we’ll have to wait for the reviews to know for sure. The pricing is yet to be confirmed, perhaps OnePlus is waiting to gauge market reaction prior to confirming the device’s cost.

Finally, for those looking to bring the package together; the OnePlus Buds Pro 2.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 have a number of features that help them to meet and exceed market expectations. This is everything from spatial audio (when paired with a compatible Android device), and quality Active Noise Cancelling to give you that little bubble from the world around you. There’s also an equalizer (EQ) tuned by Oscar-winning composer, Hans Zimmer which gives users the best possible experience through the ears of a master.

The individual earbuds are extremely lightweight at 4.9g each and deliver 10Hz to 40KHz audio through the 11mm woofer + 6mm tweeter dual drivers. If you’re running with ANC on, you’ll get around 6 hours of playback and (charging from the case) up to 25 hours total. I’m also happy to report that the case is Qi-compatible, as well as offering wired charging via USB-C.

The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 will set you back US$179 through the OnePlus site, and, like usual, we expect third-party sites to have imports available into Australia.

So there’s plenty more coming from OnePlus in the coming weeks with releases staggered and pricing to be confirmed on the OnePlus Pad. We’ll continue to keep our eyes on OnePlus with the hope, one day, we’ll see an official distribution channel in Australia.
