I am a fan of simple games. You know, the sort of game you can pick up and play for a few minutes and then forget about. PUK is one of those games, well at least it should be.
The official description of PUK on the Play Store reads as follows:
PUK is a fast paced pure action puzzler requiring skill dexterity, nerve and endurance. Pull back and ping to obliterate portals in 1000 unique, quick-fire levels that are endlessly generated and different every time.
It is kind of a very fast, very flat, Angry Birds. You simply pull back on the Puks, fling them towards the portals and try to hit them. Some portals require multiple hits to destroy, while others can be destroyed with a single hit.
As the description states, there are 1000 levels and these are generated each time you play so you should never play the same game twice. From what I have seen, the levels themselves aren’t generated as you play, it is more the fact that there are 1000 pre-built levels that are presented in a random order, so, play it enough and you will eventually play all 1000 levels.
The graphics and the sounds are mostly what I like about this game as they are simple and bold which allows you to just get on with playing the game.
There have been quite a few times where I have said to myself, I will play it for a few minutes before I go to bed, and half an hour later, I am telling myself ‘just one more attempt at beating my high score’.
Since there isn’t much to the game I can see it getting old quite quickly, but after a few weeks of playing on and off, it is still one of my most played games and well worth the AU $1.01 asking price.
