Swann continues to develop their DIY home security options with the latest addition being a Wire-Free 1080p Security Camera. But it’s not just your run of the mill Wi-Fi connected camera, there are some serious smarts included. The system includes facial recognition giving users the option to trigger recording & even personalised notifications.
The feature set encompasses Swann’s usual range of proprietary technology. That includes True Detect™ heat and motion sensing, this significantly reduced — to almost zero — false alerts on your system. Coupled with an IR lens that has a full 180-degree viewing angle, you’ll be able to see what’s going on in detail. That detail will be conveyed to you inside or outside your home thanks to the IP65 rating, whether it’s day or night.
The capacity of the camera to record locally as well as utilise cloud backup means that you’re always protected, even when the power goes out or the Internet is down. If you’re looking for longer storage options or the ability to record to extra cameras — like Swann competitors — they offer subscription services that also have some benefits.
- Vehicle detection
- Pet detection
- Tamper detection
- Longer storage in the cloud
- Extended hardware warranty
It’s all controlled through the Swann Security app that we’ve covered in previous reviews.
