Following a successful crowdfunding campaign, Mobvoi has released the Earbuds Gesture. The gesture control is not touch-based but reacts to your head motion to complete actions on your linked device. The gestures include answering or rejecting calls by nodding or shaking your head, for media playback, there are also the “typical” touch controls.
From a day to day perspective they have a really solid feature set:
- Dual-Mic Noise Isolation
- Connects to Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa using integrated touch controls
- An app to further customise the user experience
- 10 hours of playback in the earbuds, a further 50 hours of battery life in the case
- IPX5 rating for protection from everyday life
- Each earbud can be used independently
For users who’ve seen the previous generation, the case is identical to the TicPods Free and comes with multiple silicone tips; maximising fit, comfort and sound delivery.
