We kind of like activity trackers here at Ausdroid, we’ve tested out quite a few and have another couple to test. Much of the activity tracking we’re doing is on Android Wear, but that’s not the only game in town. The makers of the Striiv fitness trackers have today announced that the Striiv Fusion will be available from today for $149.
The Striiv is a neat little fitness band that has what Striiv describe as a ‘Sweat Venting’ elastomer band in three different colours: Graphite, Blue Denim and Red Ember, with a stainless steel clasp. The Striiv Fusion itself offers 24/7 activity tracking – steps, distance travelled, calories and active minutes, as well as sleep tracking. With all this you obviously need a long battery life and the Striiv Fusion offers a 7 day battery life. The Striiv Fusion also has smartwatch functions which can display information on the included touch screen, such as the time and app notifications from games, Facebook, Skype and more.
There’s a companion Android app available in Google Play for the Striiv activity trackers. The app is free to install but advises that there’s in-app purchases in there. There is an in-app game, which appears to be some sort of social game which could explain it as most of the functions in the app are all open and you can even check it out without a band to see if you like it.
The 7 day battery life is the real winner here, if you’re interested in checking one out the Striiv Fusion is available from JB Hifi, and strangely enough Newslink retail outlets for $149.
