Wireless speakers are becoming hugely popular, or at least there’s certainly a lot of them being released. Today, Braven has announced that their ‘biggest and baddest’ speaker in their BRV line of ultra-rugged wireless speakers is now available in Australia and New Zealand.

Available for $379.99($399.99 NZD) from retailers the speaker features HD-Audio in a shock-absorbing, water-resistant body with up to 28 hours of playback on the 8,800mAh battery. The speaker with its aircraft-grade aluminium grill certainly looks the business, and with the ability to take a splash (the speaker has an IPX3 splash resistance rating), the speaker is perfect to have around the pool for a party or just taking with you on a picnic, even if it rains.

Though at almost $400, the speaker isn’t cheap, Braven are certainly interested in you purchasing more than one. The BRV-HD comes with a nifty feature called ‘TruewWireless’ which gives the option to pair a second Braven speaker to give left and right audio at up to 30 feet.

Andy Fathollahi, Chief Executive, Braven said

The BRV-HD is a commanding speaker that pushes wireless audio limits with incredible sound that turns any backyard gathering into a party. The BRV-HD has loud, clear sound that elevates your listening experience and will satisfy even the most discerning audiophiles.

From the specs, it doesn’t sound like a bad speaker, with apparently full HD audio and ‘rich, full bass’ and it also supports ‘digitally enhanced acoustics using DTS Audio’s SRS™ WOW technology’.

The speaker is available in black/grey from Beezer, MacGear and MacintoshAddict in Australia and from Harvey Norman, Noel Leeming, JB Hi-Fi, Yoobee, MightyApe and MacGear in New Zealand for $379.99 AUD ($399.99 NZD).
