If you’re an office-bound worker, or if you spend a lot of time in a home office, or just at a desk anywhere, then you’ll likely know the benefits of having a dock for your phone instead of leaving it lying on your desk with a charging cable. Mobile phone docks have been around for years precisely for this reason; they combine effortless charging with a stand that keeps your phone easy to see. When it rings, there’s no need to pick it up to see who’s calling. When a message comes in, you can read it hands-free.
On top of all this, the new Nexus phones look at home in this specially designed USB-C dock from KiDiGi, which we sell on the Ausdroid Shop. They’re already proving quite popular — since they arrived in the warehouse yesterday evening, we’ve sold three, and on taking a closer look today, it’s easy to see why.
Without the phone in the dock, we will admit, it looks a little bit strange. Daniel’s comment is that it looks a bit like a spinning top — it’s true. It does.
Plug the Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P into it, though, and you can see that it’s just meant to be. Better yet, with an adjustable height for the USB-C connector, this dock will work whether your phone is in a case, something as big as an OtterBox, or without any case. The USB-C connector actually tilts, too, so fitting your phone into the dock is easy, and it minimises the risk of damaging your phone’s USB-C port.

If you’re shelling out for a new Nexus 5X or Nexus 6P, don’t miss out on one of these docks to hold your precious new phone in. As we get more accessories in for the new Nexus range, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Any idea on when they will be available ?
Purchase complete. I’ve been looking for something like this. Thanks.
Is it a fast charging compatible?
We don’t have a Nexus fast charger here in the warehouse to check it with, but we put it on a couple of different Quick Charge 2.0 chargers, and it charged the phones pretty quick. The likelihood is the Nexus 6X charger will drive this at full power.
Dang. I got a Nexus 5P 😛
Hahah shush 😛
I’ve asked Kidigi for an answer on this, will post back. Generally the Kidigi units are pass through – so any input they receive, they’ll output. I’ll confirm back here when I hear.
