If you’re a fan of the Google Assistant you’ve likely got a smart speaker in every room of your house – except the bathroom. The lack of a waterproof model makes that room a little hard to cater to – unless you’re talking about the splash proof Mobvoi TicHome Mini which is currently on-sale at Jaycar.
The smart speaker went on-sale at Jaycar just under a year ago for an introductory sale price of $159, but with an RRP of $179. That price has now been dropped to just $99 in either the black or white colour options, making it a great deal for a splashproof smart speaker that’s also portable – yes, portable, it has a 2600mAh battery that offers up to 6 hours of battery life.
It looks like it may be the end of the road for the TicHome Mini speaker at Jaycar which is a real shame as I quite liked it when I reviewed it last year.

How do they compare to google home mini whihch is nearly half the price?
It’s pretty decent. Sound wise about the same, but you get the bonus of having a battery in it so you can move it with you anywhere and it’s splash proof so better suited for the bathroom, kitchen or even around the pool.
