The launch of the new Chromecast Gen 3 last month has meant there’s now stock to clear of the 2nd generation Chromecast, and while there’s no massive specials, at $49 it’s still a decent discount.
Normally priced at $59, the gen 2 Chromecast dongle is still quite a decent piece of hardware with support for 1080p streaming video – though only at 30fps. The Chromecast Gen 2 is available in black from most retailers, but it appears JB Hifi have gotten their hands on the Poppy (Red) and Lemonade (Yellow) coloured models as well.
As you’d expect with their 5% price match policy Officeworks is ahead of the game with their Chromecast Gen 2 priced the cheapest at $47, with everyone else at $49. If you do find it cheaper, then it’s always worth seeing if Officeworks will beat it.
