While Razer is recognised through its luminous green logo, it’s another green pathway they recently launched. The Razer Basilisk V3 and the DeathAdder Essential mice are ECOLOGO certified, recognising then as sustainable products.
In the press release, Razer noted that having the first ECOLOGO-certified gaming mice is a tribute to the brand’s commitment to making greener products, which is also a major pillar in its ten-year sustainability plan #GoGreenWithRazer.
While there is clear marketing around the green status of the two mice, the packaging too is easily recycled. Outside of the environmental factors, there’s still plenty of performance to sell them on too. The usual array of Razer features such as the optical switches rated to millions of clicks and offering outstandingly fast response. The adjustable optical sensitivity and, on the Basilisk, the programmable buttons.
Kenneth Ng, Sustainability Manager at Razer said
Unlike companies making their own claims about their products being sustainable, we go the extra mile to prove to our fans that our products are truly sustainable. Our community of gamers can rest assured that their favorite mice have been thoroughly vetted by a trusted scientific organization that looked at a comprehensive list of criteria to award us with the ECOLOGO® Certification.
With companies like Acer and Razer making clear steps towards providing sustainable products, who is going to follow next?
