Whether you’re gaming or working on a computer, your physical interfaces to your computer are paramount to a good experience. Keyboards are where we input most of our data, so a responsive touch and physical feedback are important. Not everyone — particularly in office environments — are fans of the super “clicky” mechanical keyboards.
Razer has again delivered with the new DeathStalker V2 Pro keyboard being low profile and high performance. Not only does it have strong battery life (over 40 hours) and wireless connectivity, but it also has options for the switches. What this means is that if you like the clicky mechanical feel and sound, you’re catered for. Or, if you prefer a less noisy keyboard, there’s an option there for you too.
Both the Red and Purple switches are optical with quick response and a short actuation distance. They’re rated to a ludicrous 70 Million clicks and are adorned with customisable RGB settings from Synapse. The keys themselves are Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene(ABS) manufactured, maximising the durability of the keys.
At $359.00, it’s certainly not your $25.00 special from the local PC store; it’s an investment into your computing pleasure. Personally, I’d recommend going to your local retailer and checking out their displays to figure out which switch feel and sound you prefer before spending large. That being said, having switched to mechanical keyboards some time ago, I’ll always spend the money for the feel and experience you get.
