When it comes to watches there’s a few names that make watch collectors sit up and take note, and Tag Heur is one. After announcing earlier this year they would bring an Android Wear watch to market this year, the company has told CNBC that they will unveil the watch on November 9th.
According to Tag Heur CEO Jean-Claude Biver, the watch, which will be called the TAG Heuer Carrera 01, will be unveiled at the LVMH building in New York on November 9th . The Carrera 01 will be powered by Intel – a first in the Android Wear market which has overwhelmingly used the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor.
As expected with the premium watch maker at the helm, the watch will attract a high-end price, which will contrary to earlier reports of a US$1400 price tag, will actually cost US$1800 – a price they feel justified charging due to competition from Apple for their higher end Apple Watch configurations.
