After announcing their next-generation ACCESS touchscreen watches, the Sofie and Grayson in March, they’re set to reach our shores this month.
The latest Michael Kors ACCESS series watches focus on both mens and womens styles, with the Grayson aimed at the male market, while the Sofie is aimed more at the women, with different case and style options on bands. They differ in size, with the Sofie sporting a pixel dense 1.19″ fully round 390×390 resolution AMOLED display, while the Grayson gets a larger 1.39″ 454×454 resolution display.
Both watches are running Android Wear 2.0 and powered by the Snapdragon 2100 Wear processor, but there’s little else known about the specs on the watches.
The Sofie has a lightweight profile with a pavé bezel and comes in a choice of eight different plating-and-bracelet combinations, which includes a special-edition Watch Hunger Stop style which will benefit the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP). The Sofie strap options are easily interchangeable with seven quick release straps available.
The Grayson has three case colour options – gold-tone, stainless steel and blue and black ion-plate – as well as four interchangeable straps to choose from.
With the launch of the Sofie and Grayson, Michael Kors has also announced an update to their My Social micro-app, allowing photos from Facebook as well as Instagram to be used for custom watch faces. This feature is rolling out to all current Michael Kors Android Wear watches through a software update in Google Play.
Michael Kors ACCESS Grayson and Sofie will be available from mid-September starting at $579 from Michael Kors stores, as well as selected Myer and David Jones stores, you’ll also be able to check them out from The Iconic as well.
