The gorgeously styled Emporio Armani watch running Android Wear has swaggered its way into boutiques around Australia today.
Announced during fashion week in Milan back in July, the Emporio Armani comes in two models – the Touchscreen model running Android Wear and a Hybrid mode which offers a more traditional analogue watch with bluetooth connectivity built-in to allow notifications, music controls and more. The Touchscreen model is arriving in boutiques around Australia today, while the Hybrid watches will arrive on September 25th.
The Touchscreen is a pretty standard Android Wear watch inside with a fully round AMOLED touchscreen display with a Snapdragon 2100 processor running the show underneath. Internally the Emporio Armani has Bluetooth 4.1 LE for connectivity and Accelerometer for step tracking, but there doesn’t appear to be a GPS or heart-rate monitor included so not for the sports inclined, but very much so for the fashion conscious.
On the Australian Armani site, there are four case styles shown, Black, Silver, Silver/Rose Gold and Gold, with metal, rubber, fabric or leather straps all either included or available for an extra cost.
As well as customisable bands, the Emporio Armani will have eight customisable, very stylish watch faces available pre-installed on the watch itself.
The Australian Armani website is listing all the watches as sold out at this moment, but they should be going live soon. The Armani Emporio will also be available at more stores later in the month.
