Looks like the Nexus 10 is also pretty much official, the manual for the tablet has been leaked over at Korean blog Seeko. Showing a very curvy body that appears to share some design aspects of the Note 10.1 which makes sense as it’s supposed to be manufactured by Samsung. The Nexus 10 is rumoured to have a very high res screen at 2560×1600 so it doesn’t appear to be a slouch in that department although no other specifications are listed.
It appears we’re pretty definite for at least 2 of the devices that were listed for the launch at next weeks ‘Playground is Open’ event, the Nexus 4 has been pretty much thoroughly leaked including pricing and now the manual for the Nexus 10, now we just have to wait for further information on the Nexus 7 32GB variants to leak and we’ll be done. Anyone interested in a 10″ Nexus tablet?
1. Rounded design looks EXTREMELY ugly. Looks like a toy tablet from the drawings. 2. This is a SamDung product – enjoy your terrible build quality: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/08/21/samsung-galaxy-note-10-1-review-an-embarrassing-lazy-arrogant-money-grab/ 3. Three attractive features to the tab are the high res screen, A15 processor and stock android – so why **** it over with a terrible designed/feeling plastic shell? Google need to stop going to SamDung for Nexus products. They ****ed up the Galaxy Nexus, and from what it looks like, they’re going to **** up the Nexus 10. Proprietary connector? Piss off. I really, really, really hope I’m wrong and this (somehow)… Read more »
I agree with the others about the proprietary charging connector but it’s no deal breaker for me. Perhaps Google is trying so cut down on cost by using some of Samsung existing technology such as this connector so they can price the tablet more competitively?
I might sell my Nexus 7 and get this one if the reviews turns out to be good as I mainly use the Nexus around the house anyway.
I agree with @caab1d55d4324905efb44793a3b8704c:disqus about the connector. Surely a Nexus device should be using standard Micro-USB.
Overall, I’ve not been a great fan of the 10″ displays since getting the GF a Nexus 7. The Prime seems far too big and is significantly less portable.
I’m interested, I’d replace my ageing Acer Iconia A500 with this beast.
Three very bad signs there:
1. Pointless proprietary charging connector. I would have thought that would have been against the Nexus ideals. Micro-USB or Pogo-pins or GTFO.
2. The back-design looks a lot like the recently released Samsung tablets and is highly unlikely to be any more sturdy.
3. Rear-facing camera – you too can look like a moron taking pictures at public events.
I agree with all points especially point 1, I´m an android fan because we dont use proprietary crap!
Please dont look as s#itty as you do in the manual!
Can’t see any external card slot!?!?!
I’m interested. The lack of MicroSD is highly unfortunate but I might get the 32GB version to compensate.
