Acer has certainly been leading the charge of late when it comes to ChromeOS. Their Acer C720P was an Ausdroid favourite and they’re releasing more and more Chromebooks, and even entering the Chromebox market. This morning Acer has announced that they’re trying another form factor, announcing the Chromebase – an all-in-one desktop unit with a touch-screen running ChromeOS.
The Acer Chromebase will come with a 21.5″ FullHD resolution 10-point touch-screen, a first for the all-in-one ChromeOS desktop form factor. The machine will be powered by an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, which will allow the machine to boot in under 10 seconds. The Chromebase will also include a built-in HD webcam for video conferencing through Hangouts – or whichever application you can get working with the Android Runtime for Chrome
Availability is apparently aimed at Q2 for the US, but no further information on rollouts have been shared. We’ve asked Acer Australia for more information.
