Samsung’s announcements for IFA will apparently include the Gear S3, however we could also see another surprise, with Samsung today announcing they will be showing the Galaxy Tab S3 in September.
The post was put up on the Samsung Colombia website, with the following blurb, which translated using Google Translate reads:
With a processor greater capacity for processing information, along with an operating system that allows interactivity with elements that require good performance on a mobile device; Samsung gives expect the upcoming release of the Galaxy Tab S3, which apparently has similar qualities to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S2, but with some innovations so far not known.
The Galaxy Tab S3 will be the partner that will support the upcoming launch of Galaxy Note device 7 waiting for his next release takes place in September.
Just a few days ago, we noted the appearance of a 10″ model of what we believe to be the Galaxy Tab S3 heading through the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The specs we gleaned from that sighting led to some specs being listed, that spec list includes:
- 9.7″ display
- Bluetooth 4.2 LE
- 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
- GPS
- LTE (only one sku so bands are less relevant)
- a CPU clock speed of 1.6 MHz.
- Camera
- 237.1 x 168.8 mm
- Headphone port
The unit in the FCC showed the familiar magnetic attachment points that we’ve seen on the Galaxy Tab S2 released last year.
Samsung will be hosting press to their IFA announcement on the 1st of September in Berlin, we’ll most likely see more about this tablet then.

So I wont be buying another Samsung tablet only to have the updates stop a year and a half after purchase. I’ll wait for the next generation of chromebooks to come out and hopefully have a better OS update experience. If the next years nokia flagship phones are as good as they are rumoured to be I might just buy my first… Read more »
I remember when Android devices used to have the features I wanted instead of trying to be just like the respective iOS device. 16:9 screens, front facing speakers. I hate to say it, buy Apple does Apple devices best, not their competition. I now find myself with no good reason to buy Android instead of iOS, which means I will just spend a tad extra and get the better experience. I have just bought a second hand Tab S 10.5 because there is nothing else suitable on the market any more. The next best thing is probably an Apple device.… Read more »
Related to the picture alone, I shook my head in dismay at the Rio opening ceremony parade of nations when there was that one athlete using a tablet to take pictures with… *sigh*
