It seems that we cover Aldi specials a lot here and for good reason, they appear to be great bargains. Aldi have done it again with a new sale beginning next Wednesday with a 10.1-inch tablet on sale for under $90.
Beginning the 23rd of November Aldi have the 10.1-inch Onix tablet for sale for $89.99. While the specs are not high end (most definitely low end, if anything), if all you are looking for is a basic tablet to read books and a bit of email and web surfing on this could be right up your alley. The specs for the Onix 10.1-inch tablet are:
- 1.3GHz Quad Core CPU
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB internal memory
- Micro SD memory card slot (supports up to 32GB)
- 10.1″ wide screen
- 2.0 megapixel rear camera
- Front facing camera
- 3.5mm headphone jack, BT and Wi-Fi
- Android™ 6.0 Marshmallow
Aldi are also offering a tablet accessory pack, just as they did a couple of years ago, that comes with tablet case, AC adaptor and headphone with the pack coming in 3 colours — Black, White and Pink. The tablet accessory pack will go on sale for $14.99.
If you are in the market for a cheap tablet check out your local Aldi store from the 23rd of November.

23rd November?
This is a fairly old article mate, it’s from 2016. No sign of new Aldi tablets at this stage, but they could be back at any stage.

What do you mean by saying the problem is between the tablet and the chair. And what is the abbrevation RTFM. Appreciate if you could explain a bit.
it’s an indirect reference to the user (back to the old days when the usual way to do computing task was to sit on a chair in front of a desktop computer). it is used to indicate that the problem with a user’s computer or experience is due to user error which can be solved by simply reading the manual. 🙂 such a response should not be taken as rude, it’s common in tech spaces
I purchased a tablet to my brother. He complain the screen is locked. Please advise how to unlock it?
There is a problem between the tablet and the chair. Press reset there and then RTFM
I bought one of these yesterday. Camera is not great. Netflix only works if you hold it upside down (so the buttons are on the left side and the name on the back is upside down) otherwise you get sound but no picture. Sound is not very loud and located on rear so would be even quieter if you had it in a case. Picture for movies is ok but does that funny shadow thing like laptops do if it’s not on the right angle. Charging takes 2 hours (using a USB wall charger) which seems pretty slow. I tried… Read more »
… but it was 6 times the price. I think it will be fine for YouTube and Netflix which is what I wanted it for. I have plenty of USB wall chargers so that wasn’t an issue. You can purchase them at Kmart or Harvey Norman etc
Ok so I am one of the unknowing who bought this weeks special. First up…I know nothing. I have a laptop already so when I opened tablet up to find there is no battery charger included (who does that?) I think ok I can use the (here comes no idea language) USB thingy to laptop to charge it. Onix tablet says “charging” but battery level just keeps going down into the lower percentages. I can only follow given instructions. Not happy that I cant seem to find where to get a charger thingy that plugs into a power point (Please… Read more »
Had a look at the glossy packaging today, no specs on the box just the basic Android 6 ect . Has anyone one purchased one and could they copy the spec here. Thanks
do u think it is fast enough for toddlers to do learning apps and games? my little one has gone thru a few tablets already so dont want to pay for samsung.
Will it play YouTube for the kids?
I saw it in the catalogue on Saturday. I thought it was a pretty good deal until I read the specs. There is low-end, then there is this tablet. I don’t believe anyone could have a good user experience using this device.
Unable to find the specs .Anyone know what resolution is and if it has a gps . Even at 1280×800 it wouldn’t be that flash
Going to get one for my mother-in-law who only uses it for Internet radio and news reading (Herald Sun). For those purposes, I think this would be perfect. Wondering if the BT Keyboard shown on the Onix website would be available?
WOW ! 1GB RAM !!!!
Another crappy tablet to make Android look stupid!
Doesn’t seem to say what the screen resolution is?
that says it all really!
I replied to your post yesterday, but it’s gone now?
I linked to the website for the tablet. Was it removed for some reason?
