Samsung’s recently announced Chromebook’s drew a lot of speculative glances when they launched in January. The decision by Samsung Australia not to bring them to Australia is disappointing, however there are ways to get them into your hands if you really want and Amazon are now ready to take your order for the Samsung Chromebook Plus.
There’s no date for the Pro model, but the Plus is now listed on Amazon now for $449USD and you can place your order with your account being charged when they ship the Chromebook. Unfortunately there’s also no date for when the Chromebook Plus will ship, but they will email you when it’s ready.
If you’re ready to place your order, you can choose your delivery speed, depending on how much you want to pay and how fast you want it. There’s three options:

Perhaps a dumb question, but will a chromebook ordered on a US site work as normal in Australia?
Should work just fine, though obviously you may need a converter for the power socket.

Thanks for the good news Ausdroid.
Apart from the processor is there any other difference between the plus and pro?
Just read the Verge’s review of the plus and preview of the pro. Good reading and answered my own question 😉 No other differences. At the moment it looks like Intel plays horribly with Android so the plus is the superior choice if you plan to use Android apps.
I’ll wait for the pro. The plus is tempting me though…
Ordered mine from B&H because I have no idea when Amazon will ship down here or not. I’m paying more for shipping, but the Plus is inexpensive enough that I’m not too fussed.
How much did that set you back?
$490 USD or $640 AUD. I cancelled the order though- because I’m going on a trip and it wouldn’t have arrived before I left. At that point I’d be better off just getting the Pro, and that’s exactly what I’m doing.
Ordered mine a few weeks ago from Amazon and got a notification overnight that it has shipped!
It’s in stock at Best Buy.
Can’t you guys order it from them?
Not without a shipping forwarder. Best buy don’t ship to Australia.
