We first got indication that Samsung may be ready to launch a Galaxy S6 5G late last year. We’re now seeing confirmation that this is the case as well as a timeline for delivery.
Aside from the obvious – a 5G modem vs 4G on the cellular version of the tablet – under the hood, the specs are near identical to the Tab S6. Our review labelled this the best Android tablet, but somewhat lacking as a laptop replacement.
The final specs outlined by SamMobile include:
- Snapdragon 855
- 6GB RAM
- 128GB storage
- 13MP wide, 5MP Ultra-wide rear (why? It’s a tablet!) and 8MP front facing cameras
- 7,040 mAh battery
As expected the Tab S6 5G will launch in South Korea at a rough cost of AU$1255.50, but that will likely increase when the device lands on our shores. We’ll be in touch with the local Samsung team to keep on top of if and when we can expect the Tab S6 5G in Australia.
