Subscription-based music streaming service Tidal has added Chromecast support to their Android and iOS apps over the weekend, adding a new way for customers to experience the streaming service.
Tidal, which is owned by artist Jay Z, launched the service in 2014, is a music video streaming service which offers ‘extensive curated editorial expertise’ in two levels of service to their customers. Tidal Premium is a pretty standard music streaming option for $11.99 per month, while Tidal HiFi, is a lossless CD quality, FLAC-based service offering a higher quality option for $23.99 per month. Both services offer a 30 day free trial to test the service out before committing.
According to the Google Cast support documentation, the Chromecast began supporting FLAC in late 2015, so feel free to enjoy the quality if you have a Google Cast device.
As well as Chromecast support, the app update also includes Play Queue Improvements and the usual ‘Bug Fixes’ normally included with most app updates these days.
If you’re a Tidal customer you can start using it once you update your app from Google Play, if you want to try it out grab a 30-day free trial from the Tidal website.
