The creators behind the extremely popular BitTorrent client uTorrent, BitTorrent Inc., have confirmed that they are working on a fully operational (not just a remote control) uTorrent application for Android. While there’s currently no ETA on release, I’m sure a lot of regular ‘torrenters’ are excited by the news.

Apple restricts any kind of torrenting clients from its App Store, however, Google is more open to them, with multiple torrent clients showing up when searched for on the Android Market.

With the launch of such a well-known torrenting client on Android, it begs the question: will the music and movie industries put pressure on Google to have them removed from the Android Market?

Hey uTorrent, how about an update to your LINUX client already? It’s been over 12 months since you released a build, which doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence for any of your clients.

What about a usenet app? Interesting. Personally don’t see the point in a downloading client on your phone… maybe tablet, but still, I don’t think I’ll be using it.
