Google Play Movies is getting a pre-release exclusive for Peter Dinklage’s next movie with Rememory premiering on the platform on August 24th before heading for a limited theatre run on September 8th.

The movie appears to be a mystery/sci-fi genre flick, with Peter Dinklage playing a leading role. The synopsis of the film from IMDB reads:


Gordon Dunn, a famed scientific pioneer, is mysteriously found dead just after the unveiling of his newest work, a groundbreaking device able to extract, record and play a person’s unfiltered memories. After his death, Gordon’s reclusive wife, Carolyn, delves deeper into her own private world when a mysterious man shows up claiming to be from Gordon’s past. With questionable motives he takes the machine and uses it to try and solve the mystery, beginning an investigation of memories that lead him down a path of guilt, grief, and betrayal to an unexpected answer.

The movie will be given away free to user on Google Play Movies in a number of countries including Australia. Other countries who will be getting the movie includes the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Albania, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Botswana, Cambodia, Fiji, Iceland, Jamaica, Macedonia, Malta, Namibia, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The film premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival but has generally garnered fairly negative reviews with an average 4/10 rating on Rotten Tomatoes giving it a fairly ‘un-fresh’ rating of 17% – then again, critics reviews aren’t everything and you can’t beat free right?
