It’s not quite the hype of the Google event a couple of weeks ago but today’s announcement by Huawei has a lot of people buzzing. Not only that, but Huawei are seemingly also all in on it and as part of this enthusiasm are streaming it live via their website.

Last week we wrote a piece about what to expect at the Huawei event in Munich tonight and have covered the Huawei Mate 10 leaks for as long as we have seen them. We have already seen the Mate 10 Lite be announced here as the Huawei Nova 2i but the devices we expect to see tonight are the innovative flagships.

We expect to see Huawei attempt to leverage their new Kirin 970 chipset and its AI hardware in as many ways as possible — the camera, the system software etc. Google aren’t the only ones betting big on AI.

We expect to see two, maybe three Mate 10 versions (depending on whether they show off the Porsche edition — I’m betting they won’t as they won’t want to show up their all new stylish Mate 10 Pro). The Mate 10 Pro will be the star of the show with it’s 2K 18:9 FullView display in the most stunning design Huawei have ever produced.

The good thing is that you do not have to wake up at 3am to watch it — just stay up a bit later. Huawei have scheduled the announcement for 11pm AEDT, October 16 live from Munich. To watch it is simple, head over to the Huawei website and add the event to you calendar to remind you and then tune in at 11pm tonight. You can also watch it via their YouTube channel or tune in right here on Ausdroid:

Until then, here are two more leaks to keep you going until the big reveal tonight:
