After the Huawei Mate 20 was shown off in render form yesterday, the appetite for more is growing. Now a new shot of the phone in the ‘flesh’ as it were has shown up with a funky back cover.

There is some speculation that this may be the Mate 20 Pro, though the original Weibo post makes no mention of the Pro, only referring to the Mate 20.

The shot of the phone was mixed in with renders from yesterdays article from XDA-Developers and shows the rear looks very much as rendered by the team with three rear cameras and a flash making up the four points of a square module. The shot also shows off a cover for the camera module, which may be either a case, or could just be a shell protecting the design from leaks.

As well as the camera module, we can see the rear fingerprint sensor on the Mate 20 mounted sensibly just below the module, though far enough away that you won’t confuse it when blindly reaching for it on the rear.

The Mate 20 is continuing to impress in the lead up to announcement, with the minimal tear drop notch in the display. We expect the first bit of news to be an announcement of the Kirin 980 processor later this month at IFA (as the 970 was last year), before a launch of the Mate 20, Mate 20 Lite and Mate 20 Pro later this year.

huge mate 10 pro fan here. Gotta say the mate 20 looks no where aesthetic as the mate 10 pro. Hopefully it can make it up with the kirin 980
