The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are almost here, and up for pre-order right now. While past Pixel devices have Telstra carrier exclusives, Vodafone and Optus are also ranging the latest “made by Google” smartphones this time around.

If you’d prefer to get your Pixel 3 on a plan, you’ve now got more options than ever to pick from. To help, we’ve pulled out some of the best Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL plans around.

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL plans with at least 15GB

If you’re after a Pixel 3 on a contract, there’s not much point in looking at plans with less than 20GB; the value just isn’t really there anymore. For example, an extra $5 per month on Telstra can take you from 10GB to 30GB, and gets you two years of Foxtel Now subscription valued at $25 per month.

Optus is the cheapest Pixel 3 option with plans starting at $80 per month for a 64GB Pixel 3 and 20GB. You’ll also get a free Optus Sport subscription and data-free music streaming through Spotify and Google Play Music.

Vodafone’s plans are a bit more no frills, but you’ll get 30GB of data for $94.95 per month if you’re after a 64GB model. You do have the option of changing your base plan once per month or paying off your Pixel 3 over a longer period to drop your bill. You can also leave whenever without a termination fee, but you’ll need to pay out the remainder of your Pixel 3.

Telstra is, of course, the most expensive option here, with plans starting at $109 for 30GB. You do however get a bonus Google Home Mini if you pre-order, and two years of a basic Foxtel Now subscription.  This plan also includes “peace of mind” data, which means you’ll get slowed to 1.5Mbps if you use your 30GB, rather than getting billed extra.

Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL plans with at least 50GB

It almost feels like you can go from a decent amount of data to an obnoxious amount of data for around just $10 per month more these days. This is certainly true on Optus, where $90 per month gets you a 64GB Pixel 3 and 50GB, up from $80 for 20GB.

This is similar with Telstra, where you’re paying $109 for a 64GB Pixel 3 with 30GB, or $124 for a 64GB Pixel 3 with 120GB – and there’s genuinely no plan in between. Data prices are dumb.

And If you’re looking at Vodafone, large plans have no excess usage fees so if you burn through allowance, you’ll be slowed to 1.5Mbps instead of getting billed extra.

I wonder when the Pixel review embargo ends?

AusdroidPolice

15/10 is the review embargo end date. I’m sure we’ll see a copy of the Android Police review here soon

the price difference between Telstra and everyone else is hilarious.

These new phone plan prices lately are a joke.

Vodafone are offering a discount on their $45 Red plan (saving $324 over 24 months or 36 months) which is a lot cheaper than here. So you’re paying $31.50p/m for the sim.

Yeah this is the deal I went with. The discount is due to a “loyalty bonus”. That $45 Red plan also ended up with 32gb of data – I think the extra 7GB is also related to that discount.
