Feral Interactive have pleased many of their fans today with the notification that their classic RTS (Real Time Strategy) blockbuster game, Rome:Total War will be making its way to Android.
The mobile game has been available for iOS for some time but will be released for Android ‘in the coming months’. David Stephen, Managing Director of Feral Interactive said of the impending launch ‘We’re very excited to bring ROME: Total War to Android users. We’ve taken everything we learned from the success of the game on mobile and used it to create the best possible experience on a range of Android devices’.
Australia is specifically called out as a target for distribution – though to be fair, just about every other continent is as well.
ROME: Total War for Android will be released in North America, Europe, Australia and some Asian territories, and supported on a limited range of devices. More information on territories and devices will be available closer to release.
The aim of the game is to ‘conquer and rule the ancient world by fighting spectacular real-time battles in an enormous turn-based campaign’, and from memory it’s a load of fun on PC, and hopefully with the improvements to mobile it will be just as fun on Android.
As yet there are few details about the port to Android but its expected that it will closely resemble the iOS port from a few years back. The release specifically mentions that it will be a premium app so expect a cost of around $8 – $15AUD if you’re planning on going to war.
