There’s only 3 days to go until Motorola takes the lid off its upcoming device, rumoured to be the Moto E, an even more affordable Android device targeted at developing markets. As you may expect, this is the time for leaks ahead of the release, and an alleged photo of the Moto E has leaked onto Facebook overnight.
The image above, which was apparently posted by a user on Motorola Mexico’s Facebook page, shows the affordable smartphone device next to its older brother, the Moto G, which has been a running success for the company. The image shows the Moto E (on the right hand side) is a smaller device, which would confirm the limited spec rumours we have seen thus far.
It also shows that the Moto E will carry official branding on the front like older Motorola devices did, but this could potentially be because it’s a pre-release testing unit. The image below has since been deleted by the user, but not before it has done the rounds the net.
Further to this rumour, Evleaks has tweeted the following two pics which go to show that the device will come in various colours. It certainly does look like the Moto E will have a back cover similar to the Moto G. Furthermore, it does look like the branding on the front of the device is only limited to the pre-production model above.
Motorola are expected to launch the device on May 17th according to an invite sent out earlier this week, stating that New Motorola smartphone – ‘Made to Last, Priced for All’ to be announced in London on May 13 (so early morning of May 14 here), so we will see what Motorola has in store for us.
