This week’s Coles catalogue has a couple of Android specials available to purchase from today.
The mobiles available are the Telstra prepaid Huawei Y530 that comes with a bonus $20 Google Play gift card and the Vodafone Prepaid Smart 4 Mini 3G that, according to the Vodafone website, comes with 3 Months Spotify Premium. The Spotify Premium subscription is worth $12 per month, so long as you activate your Vodafone SIM before February 1st and redeem your Spotify code by February 7th.
Spec wise, both devices aren’t going to win any awards, however given the price and bonus items, they are still worthy of consideration if you are after an entry level Android device.
So lets have a look at the specs of both devices, Starting with the Telstra Huawei Y530, which as you can gather will be locked to the Telstra network :

The major downside on the software front is that both phones are running older versions of Android. Updates to the OS are not likely to occur, although it would be nice.
The bonus’ alone for either phone could be the tipping point for purchasing, so if you’re in need of a low-end phone then these could be a good option. The Coles sale starts today and runs for 1 week only at your local Coles, so you might want to contact them to see if they have any stock available.
Bargain basement JB devices, being flogged new, after Google ceases dev of WebView on JB and earlier. Not the brightest of moves.
Selling such devices which present a security risk, should be illegal.
You never learn do you. PATHETIC.
your comments could have relevance but now we all just think of you as pathetic.
Lol.
The smart mini 4 will be getting kitkat, which will speed it up immensely.
It’s a bit misleading because the product shot has the white “kitkat” icons, probably in anticipation of 4.4.2 dropping soon
