Another new Android device another series of leaks. There’re few things more exciting then getting a good leak on an up and coming device, especially if that device is likely to be well received. Following the strong showing by Asus of their Zenfone 2 range – ie, standard, Deluxe, Selfie, Laser, Max, Zoom – we’ve been waiting to see what Asus would come up with this time around. We’ll it seems we have at least two new variants in the Asus Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe coming this year.
The design-focused site reddot21 have listed both devices on their site along with some information about their internals. The devices listed as having 2.5D glass on the front and rear – otherwise know as curved glass edges – along with a robust curved aluminium frame, USB Type C (listed as having both fast changing and speedy transfer so could this be a USB 3.1 compatible device?), front facing flash for better selfies, Laser focus, Fingerprint sensor, and a ‘smart-cover’ that allows for a new light and colour based notification system.
They are also claiming to have ‘solved’ the radio issue with metal phones and have created the first truly all metal phone without the typical plastic inserts – or necessary aesthetic flaws as RedDot calls them – for antennas that we are used to with metal phones.
From the images the Zenfone 3 seems to have a sizable camera bump on the rear, a rear fingerprint sensor along with capacity buttons and side-mounted power and volume buttons. The front image of the Deluxe, however, is quite different, there is a mechanical home button, which may include a fingerprint sensor and only a power button where the power and volume buttons were on the standard model. Both models share a similar overall design including Asus’s signature radiating concentric circle pattern.
With Asus expected to launch the device at Computex 2016 in Taipei starting at the end of May, we could well see the Zenfone 3 leak many more times between now and then.

within a year from now most of the phone will get rid of the onscreen buttons and will go for the capacitive buttons, HTC, ASUS, doing it now, so will LG will follow the line soon
I briefly owned a Zenfone 2 and found that the screen was terrible. Colours were over-saturated, even after using the built-in software to adjust it. Also, the camera was very ordinary, the build quality was only average, and the bloatware was out of this world. Xiaomi handsets are better and cheaper, although they run MIUI, which is an acquired taste (at best).
