Following the leak over the weekend of what looked like a promo shot for the upcoming Nexus devices, we’ve got — via Android Police — even further imagery of the smaller of the two rumoured Nexus devices, the 5.0″ codename Sailfish. The photo editing isn’t brilliant, but it is very distinctly HTC. These are not likely to be final devices by any stretch, likely an engineering or development model of some description, but we believe the final design is all but locked in.

What else do we know about Nexus this year? Well, we only know what’s been rumoured — both devices are rumoured to come from HTC, and be all but the same in terms of specification except for the screen sizes, with one device in 5.0″ and the other in 5.5″.

Android 7.0 at launch seems all but confirmed, and the internals remain subject to some speculation, but with rumours we’ve seen on benchmarking sites, we could be looking at a pair of Nexus phones with with 1920 x 1080 resolution (for the smaller device, at least), 4GB of RAM, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front camera and 32Gb of internal storage.

At this stage, we’re looking at a Snapdragon 820 chipset, instead of the newer Snapdragon 821 Qualcomm recently announced, but that too could be subject to change by the time the phones are announced.

I guess we’ll know soon enough!

“The photo editing isn’t brilliant” – You’re not wrong Chris. A primary school kid could do better!

After having skipped the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, and Nexus 5X/6P for pricing reasons, I REALLY hope the new Nexus models go back to Nexus 4 level pricing…

I’m with you but I think we may be disappointed.

To answer that question, all you have to do is look at the exchange rate…

Scamsung Note Edge is a beautiful phone, but gets updated once or twice a year.

Nexii phones get updated once every month or so, but they are damn ugly phones.

I think I’ll take ugly with regular OS updates.
Horses for courses. Whichever rocks yo boat.

Looks better than the render suggested… Count me in.
