More details about the Moto M leaked

The leaks for the yet-to-be unveiled Moto M are becoming more and more prevalent, so much so that each time I need to closely check that it isn’t the same leak written up slightly differently. After yesterday’s leak of the “endurance God Machine” it seemed that everything that could be known about the phone was already known. Today another leak added some more information, as well as a few photos.

Nowhereelse, my new favourite French website, today has found some leaked information on the Moto M while looking through Chinese social networking site, Weibo. Some of the data obtained is inconsistent with that previously found. This time the Moto M would 5.5-inch 108pP display, 4GB of RAM and a 13MP rear camera. The difference in the leaks come with the processor with today’s leaker suggesting it comes with a octa-core Helio P15 processor clocked at 2.2GHz per core instead of a Snapdragon 625, and the front camera is 8MP, not 5MP. They also said that the device has a battery of only 3,050mAh and 32GB of internal storage.

Judging by the photos the device seems to be a Chinese version, especially considering Moto’s penchant for releasing near-stock Android software on its devices in the western world.

Yesterday’s leak had the Moto M sporting mid-range specs that include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU, a 5.5in 1080P display with two varieties, a 4GB RAM, 64 onboard storage and a 3GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage variety as well as gold, silver and grey colours. There is apparently a 5MP front facing camera and a 13MP rear facing camera. There will be a microSD slot with support up to 128GB and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and be powered by a massive 5,100mAh battery.

It is not unusual for a manufacturer to release one version for the Asian market and one for the rest of the world. This would account for the difference in specs as those from yesterday looked fairly legitimate. Come November 8 when it is announced we will know for sure. We have reached out to Motorola Australia who at this stage have no information regarding the possible release of the Moto M in Australia.
