Just over two weeks out from the October 9th Made by Google event, high resolution images of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have leaked showing the phones in what’s, if last years names are used again ‘Just Black’ and ‘Clearly White’.
The renders come courtesy of Roland Quandt over at WinFuture.de, and obviously has some impeccable sources due to his consistent track record. The images appear to be official, with the October 9th date on the screen so could be what we’ll see in a couple of weeks sans watermark. There’s no sign of any renders in the ‘mint’ or ‘pink’ colour options that showed up on the Japanese teaser site earlier this month, but if you’re a fan of the Black or White colour choice, this leak is for you.
The Pixel 3 XL is obviously the larger of the two and shows that overly large notch in the 6.2-inch 2880×1440 resolution display off. The notch is functional according to leaks, housing dual 8MP camera sensors which are apparently set to bring us ‘Super Selfies’. The rear shows the single lens 12MP sensor that will be available on both the 3 and 3 XL which we’re hoping will bring similarly fantastic quality photos as we’ve come to expect from the Pixel 2 phones. The playful splash of green on the Clearly White power button is the only one here, if you like your phones Just Black, that’s still an option this year.
The smaller Pixel 3 is seemingly the more popular choice this year, at least from a design aesthetic without the notch in the 5.4-inch 2160×1080 resolution display it presents a more traditional phone design. The phone is similarly shown off in Just Black and Clearly White, with that same green colour highlight on the power button.
The phones will be similar internally, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 4GB of RAM. As with last year there will be two storage options: 64GB and 128GB available to order. The only other real difference will be in battery size with the Pixel 3 containing a smaller battery.
There really isn’t much more that can leak on these phones before the big day on October 9th, but we just can’t look away.
Any word on if the Pixel 3 will have a headphone jack?
I do hope the latest craze to have notches goes away. Notches are stupid.
It isn’t a craze. It is because marketing likes to say they have the biggest this and that so the designers do it, they are trying to maximise screen size because they can. Notches can’t be helped due to sensors at this time but that will all change, just look at Oneplus (6t) and Oppo they are shrinking the size of the notch because they want it gone, or the phones with a popup camera, no notch at all. if you want a front facing camera physics dictates that you need enough light on the camera sensor to take an… Read more »
