Motorola have always been one of the faster companies to provide version updates for their Android handsets and they are set to continue this in the future. Today they have announced that they will be rolling out Android 9.0 Pie to their Moto x4 handsets beginning today.

With Android 9.0 Pie Moto x4 users will be able to experience the new Android UI with a “redesigned Quick Settings” and a “revamped split screen”. Included in the update is the controversial new “intuitive” navigation buttons along with volume controls that go deeper but at the same time are easier to use. Motorola are also updating their cameras to include a panorama feature and better low light photography.

At the same time Motorola have not forgotten their older handsets with Android 9.0 Pie set to roll out to the following phones “soon”:

  • moto z3 play
  • moto z2 play
  • moto g6 plus
  • moto g6
  • moto g6 play

The Motorola Android software is basically Android One with a few other Motorola tweaks so you are getting one of the better Android experiences available with Android 9.0 Pie on a Motorola device.

For more information on Android 9.0 Pie head on over to the Google Blog page and start hitting the check for updates button on your phone — let us know in the comments when your update arrives.

Hi, I’m still on Moto X Force (Aust) …any idea if there’s a Moto X5 (or similar goodness) coming in 2019? The battery won’t last 12 hrs/day even with brightness turned down to 1/4 lol, so I’m keen to upgrade! But don’t want to jump into an X4 if something better is coming soon. Thanks 🙂
