Over the past few years, OnePlus has gone from strength to strength. Many were expecting some significant bumps in the road when Carl Pei left, but OnePlus then delivered the OnePlus 9 series. Following this success, we’re now seeing The OnePlus Nord N200 5G.

For Aussies, the story continues with another device not available in our region as the Nord N200 5G will only appear on USA and Canadian shelves. For those that do make the investment via retail or import methods, the N200 5G carries some impressive specs for a surprisingly low price including:

  • A 6.49″ Full HD display running at 90Hz
  • Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 480 5G Mobile Platform
  • 5000mAh battery
  • 18W Fast Charging
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB Storage – Expandable via MicroSD

Continuing their partnership with Hasselblad, we now see a triple camera system in the budget device. 13MP main camera that is said to offer strong colour accuracy at day or during the night. Then bringing the whole package together is a price that makes it really attractive US$239.99. With the Australian tax and other fees, you may well be able to pick one up via the likes of Kogan or Expansys for around AU$500.00

Given OnePlus won’t sell in Australia, their current pricing and lack of updates they will fade into irrelevance in Australia. Writing this from my last OnePlus.

Their only global look in is Europe & Asia where Samsung don’t use Qualcomm and Google phones are hard to come by / expensive.

There is not a hope in hell of this phone coming to Oz. This is a T-Mobile exclusive for North America and Canada. It won’t even support the 5G bands in use here in Oz.
Why waste your time and effort writing an article about a phone that will not be compatible with our mobile network?

Love your articles but don’t understand why bother with phones not officially available in Australia? Why not talk about e.g. Xiaomi phones available locally, like the fantastic Mi 11 Ultra?
