Yeah, I know… that’s a terribly punny headline but the flip and fold names just make me lean that way. What isn’t terrible is the new devices from Samsung and the fact that we’ve already got carrier pricing.

We already saw the specs of the new devices — including eSIM compatibility across the board — a short time ago; Vodafone is the first carrier to deliver their pricing for the new devices through to us. We’re looking at the usual repayment options from 12 – 36 months and varying data allocations.

Vodafone continued to offer three plans: Small with 40 GB of data, medium with 150 GB and large with a whopping 300 GB of data each month. All plans allow full-speed data transfer to your purchased amount, then speed-limited data (up to 2mbps) for the remainder of your month.

For the devices, you’ve got to pay the handset cost on top of plan costs across your chosen period, so the costs are as follows:

  • Z Fold 5 with 512GB repayments are: $72.10 for 36 months, $108.29 for 24 months or $216.58 for 12 months
  • Z Fold 5 with 1TB repayments are: $77.75 for 36 months, $116.62 for 24 months or $233.25 for 12 months
  • Z Flip 5 with 512GB repayments are: $45.80 for 36 months, $68.70 for 24 months or $137.41 for 12 months

If you’re a Vodafone customer waiting for this, you can pre-order now on their site. Check out the options for trade-in because you can nab a pretty hefty discount if you’ve got a qualifying device ready and in good working order.

To receive this trade-in bonus, customers must hand in their existing eligible device, purchase or upgrade to a new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 or Galaxy Z Flip5 phone and stay connected to an eligible plan over 12, 24 or 36 months. Customers can trade in an eligible device in-store or online.

At the time of writing, pricing on the Galaxy Watch 6 and Tab S9 were not yet available.
